He was a member of the Evangelical Free Church of Clearwater and a former member of the Bethany Baptist Church of Traverse City. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on Oct. 22, 1921, he was the son of Harold A. and Helen Eugenia (Thurtell) Jahraus. He is survived by his wife, the former Jean Baker; two daughters, Nancy Reed of El Toro, Calif., and Michelle Paist of Traverse City; a sister, Mary Edna Hutchinson of Traverse City; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Hibbard Funeral Chapel, Traverse City, with the Rev. Donald Sunman officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral chapel on Friday after 10 a.m. Memorials may be directed to Jews for Jesus."
