The 1900 Federal Census for Dickensons, Franklin Co., Virginia, District 36, page 239B, dated June 2, 1900 records Henry L. (Feb 1852 - VA/VA/VA) and Lucinda (March 1860 - VA/VA/VA) Adkins with children Archie M. (Aug 1875), Bettie M. (Aug 1877), Joe H. (Sept 1879), Wattie (Aug 1883), Alphoso (July 1885), Zepheniah (Aug 1887), and Annie (Nov 1892). Henry and Lucinda have been married for 25 years and have had 10 children of whom 7 are still living.

The 1910 Federal Census for Union Hall, Franklin Co., Virginia, District 47, page 254B, dated April 28, 1910 records Henry L. (58 - VA/VA/VA) and Loucinda A. (52 - VA/VA/VA) Adkins with children Alphonsio (22), Annie L. (17), and Bertha G. (10). Also in the household is Alhonso's wife of 2 years, Vannie S. Adkins (16). Henry and Lucinda have been married for 36 years and have had 11 children of whom 6 are still living. Next door is Zuhania Adkins (21) and his wife of 3 years, Esteer Adkins (20).
