The 1900 census for Lancaster City, District 56 records the widow Margaret Elmire (Oct 1835 - born at sea) working as a servant in the home of Henry and Rose Weill at 533 North Duke Street. Margaret reports having had 8 children of whom 5 are still living.

Margaret married John Elmire. (John Elmire was born circa 1827 in Hanover [Germany] and died circa 1890 in Lancaster Co., PA.)
