The 1860 Federal Census for Philadelphia, PA, Ward 18 (Southwest Division), page 453A records Eliza Hamel (14) living with her parents Jacob (52) and Elizabeth (42) Hamel and siblings James (21 - NJ), Mary (19 - PA), Sophia (11 - PA), Amanda (8 - PA), Magdaline (6 - PA), and Charles (2 - PA). Jacob is a Miller and Elizabeth is a Laundress.
