The 1860 Federal Census for Martic Township, Lancaster Co., PA, Rawlinsville P. O., records Ann [Nancy] (39 - PA) and Edward (49 - PA) Gallen with children James (20), John (19), Henry (17), Mary J. (16), Rosanna (14), Amanda (12), Margaret (11), Adalaide (7), Anna (5), Isabella (3), and Elizabeth (2). Edward is a farmer with real estate valued at $6,000 and a personal estate at $800.

The 1880 Federal Census for Martic Township, Lancaster Co., PA, District 169, page 396 records the widow Nancy (61 - PA) with children James (39) and Lizzie (21).

Nancy Armstrong Galen is listed in the Cemetery Records of Martic Township as buried in Row 7 of the Rawlinsville Methodist Church Cemetery. Her record states: Nancy Armstrong Galen, mother, w/o Edward Galen, 8/20/1812 - 3/22/1896, 77y7m2d. [Note: the transcription for the birth - death - time alive does not compute correctly. Since census records indicate her birth as ca 1820 and then using the 8/20/1896 death with the 77y7m2d alive, a birth date of 8/20/1818 is determined.

Nancy married Edward Galen. (Edward Galen was born circa 1810 in Pennsylvania and died after 1860 in Martic Township, Lancaster Co., PA.)
