(19), Mildred A. (16), William E. (13), and John R. (10) living near by (page 330B) his brother Lawrence Daughtrey and family. Edwin is a farmer with real estate valued at $900.

The 1860 Federal Census for East Side Nottoway River, Southampton Co., VA, Jerusalem P. O., page 86, dated September 5, 1860, records E. [Edwin] Daughtrey (58 - Southampton Co., VA) with his wife T. [Temperance] (64 - VA) and children W. E. [William E.] (22), and J. K. [John R.] (20) living near by (page 86) his brother Lawrence Daughtrey and family. Edwin is a farmer with real estate valued at $1,000 and personal property at $3,200 including 6 slaves.

The 1870 Federal Census for Franklin Depot Township, Southampton Co., VA, Jerusalem P. O., page 207A, dated September 4, 1870, records Edwin Daughtrey (68 - VA) with his married daughter, Mildred Cross (33) and her husband Josiah Cross (36) - VA and their children Laura V. Cross (8) and Edwin Cross (2). Edwin is a farmer with real estate valued at $2,000 and personal property at $190. Also in the household is a cook, Isora Scoggins (23). This could be a relative in that Edwin's brother, Lawrence, married a "Scoggins". Next door is Edwin's son, William Daughtrey (33) and his wife, Martha (26). Nearby (page 208A) is the family of Lawrence Daughtrey, Edwin's brother, although Lawrence has apparently died.

Edwin married Temperance Britt on 9 May 1828 in Southampton Co, VA. (Temperance Britt was born circa 1800 in Virginia and died after 1860 in Southampton Co., VA.)
