The 1910 Federal Census for Bluefield Ward 6, Mercer Co., West Virginia, District 126, page 119A, dated April 16, 1910 records a Robert M. Garrett (36 - VA/VA/VA) with his wife Cleo S. (29 - VA/VA/VA) and children Lucille (7 - WV), Marian A. [daughter] (5 - WV), and Robert M. Jr. (1 10/12 - WV) living at 713 Princeton Avenue. Robert is a retail druggist and has been married to Cleo for 8 years. They have had 3 children.

By 1920 Robert and Cleo have moved to Roanoke, VA which is where his father is living: 1920 United States Federal Census for Jefferson Ward, Roanoke City, VA, District 122, page 9A, dated January 13, 1920 records Robert M. (46 - VA/VA/VA) and Cleo P. (40 - VA/VA/VA) Garrett with their children Lucille (16 - WV), Marion [daughter] (14 - WV), and Robbie (10 - WV) living at 302 Mountain Avenue. Robert is a Druggist for a Wholesale Company.

The 1930 Federal Census for Jefferson Ward, Roanoke (Independent City), Virginia, District 39, page 100A, dated April 17, 1930 records Robert M. Garret (sic) (56 - VA/VA/VA) with his wife Cleo S. Garret (50 - VA/VA/VA) and children Frances L. Garret (27), Marian A. Garret (25), and Robert M. Garret Jr. (21 - WV) living at 444 Cornwallis Avenue. The house is valued at $20,000. Robert is a Wholesale Druggist and has been married to Cleo for 29 years. Frances is a Secretary at a Hotel Cigar Stand. The other children have no employment.

Lucille appears to have married Henry B. Boynton in that they are living at 419 [now 1251] Creston Avenue SW in the 1941 Roanoke City Directory. Turns out that they are living there in the 1939 Directory as well. They move to 1235 Creston Avenue in later directories.
