Gatling (Sept 1872 - VA/VA/VA) and daughters Azzie Q. (Oct 1896) and Mary E. (Feb 1899). James is a farmer and has been married to Willie for 4 years. They have had 2 children.

The 1910 Federal Census for Holy Neck, Nansemond Co., Virginia, District 12, page 147B, dated April 19, 1910 records James V. Gatlin (37 - NC/NC/NC) with his wife Willie N. R. Gatlin (37 - VA/VA/VA) and daughters Azzie Q. (13 - NC) and Mary E. Gatlin (11 - NC). James is a farmer and has been married to Willie for 12 years. They have had 2 children.

The 1920 Federal Census for Suffolk (Independent City), Virginia, District 224, page 214A, dated January 11, 1920 records the widow Willie R. Gatling (46 - VA/VA/VA) operating a boarding house at 805 Bank Street. In addition to several boarders, also in residence are daughters Azzie Jueldah Gatling (22) and Mary Emily Gatling (19) and Willie's mother, Mary E. Rawls (80), Willie's brother, David L. Rawls (40), Willie's borther-in-law Edward Norfleet (72), and Willies' sister, Rosa [Rawls] Norfleet (48).

The 1930 Federal Census for Suffolk (Independent City), Virginia, District 2, page 194A, dated April 2, 1930 records the widow Willie R. Gathing (50 - VA/VA/VA) operating a boarding house at 127 Bank Street. In addition to several boarders, also in residence is son-in-law James Parker Cross (30 - NC/NC/NC) and his wife Mary E. G. Cross (30 - VA/NC/VA).

Note: Azzie married Dr. John Lewis Rawls.

Nancy married James Vivian Gatling circa 1895. (James Vivian Gatling was born on 29 Jan 1873 in North Carolina, died on 11 Jul 1911 in Nansemond Co, VA and was buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk, VA..)
