The 1920 Federal Census for Atlantic City Ward 4, Atlantic Co., NJ, District 35, page 189B, dated April 14, 1920 records Chas (29 - PA/Germany/Germany) and Loretta (25 - PA/PA/PA) Ebinger with children Mary (2 6/12 - PA), Katherine (1 - NJ) living at 18 S. Florida Avenue. Chas is a Checker at a Hotel. Also in the household are Charles' widowed father-in-law, John J. Donahue (58 - Ireland/Ireland/Ireland), his widowed sister-in-law, Celia Loney (27 - PA/Ireland/Ireland) and her daughter Helen Loney (7 - PA). John immigrated in 1882. Note that Helen appears in the 1930 census as a nurse ... see below. Also, according to Philadelphia Marriage Records, Cecelia P. Donohue married a Frederck N. Loney in 1914.

The 1930 Federal Census for Atlantic City Ward 4, Atlantic Co., NJ, District 35, page 189B, dated April 14, 1930 records Chas (40 - PA/Germany/Germany) and Margaret (38 - PA/PA/PA) Ebinger with children Mary (14 - PA), Katherine (11 - NJ), Chas (9 - NJ), and Robert (3 6/12 - NJ) living at 719 N. Harrisburg Avenue. Chas is a Food Controller at a Hotel and has been married to Margaret for 15 years. Also in the household is a nurse, Helen Lowney (18)

The WWII Draft Registration Card (for men born on or after April 28, 1877 and on or before February 16, 1897) for Charles John Ebinger Sr. dated April 25, 1942 in Atlantic City, NJ lists his date of birth as February 25, 1890 in Philadelphia, PA. He is living with his wife, Margaret, at 719 Harrisburg Avenue in Atlantic City, NJ. He is working for the Ambassidor Hotel Corp. at Brighton and Boardwalk in Atlantic City and his physical description is 5' 11 1/2", 165 lbs with hazel eyes, brown hair and ruddy complexion. He has a scar on his forehead.

The 1930 census and 1943 WWII Draft Registration record Charles Ebinger's wife as Margaret ... but Charles' definitly had a wife by the name of Loretta Donahue. Whether of no Lorretta and MArgaret are one in the same is unknown at this time. Since there is a span of time between the last two children as listed in the 1930 census it appears as though Loretta died ca 1921 and Charles remarried .. although in that 1930 census both Chas and Margaret indicate they both have been married since 1915.
