Barbara Mae Saunders Williams, age 95, of Valparaiso, Fla., died Dec. 2, 2011, at the home of her daughter. She was predeceased by her parents, Dr. Aubrey Burton Saunders and wife Hazel Mae Clarke Saunders of Pensacola, Fla.; siblings, A.B. Saunders, Jr., and Dorothy Saunders Stewart. Her children's father was Charles T. Williams.
She leaves three children, Clarke H. Williams and wife Carolyn of Destin, Fla., John R. Williams of Valparaiso and Cecilia L. "CeeCee" Sidler of Crestview, Fla.
She attended Florida State College for Women, Ringling School of Art and graduated from High Museum School of Art. Her hobbies were "tickling the ivory," solving crossword puzzles ('til the very end) and ballroom dancing. After many decades of service at Field 9 and Eglin, she retired as Senior Technical Documentation Editor/Writer for the Test Wing.
At her request, her remains were cremated. Her children will host a memorial gathering at a later date and will advise friends and relatives when plans are confirmed. Condolences and memories can be left at www.nwfdailynews.com.
