Richard Charles Bourne, Jr (59) of Alexandria, VA on October 18, 2015. Devoted husband of Marjan Gucek. Son of Richard Bourne, Sr of Great Falls, VA. Brother of James Bourne (Julianne) of Hamilton, VA. Preceded in death by his mother Florence Bourne, his brother Steven Bourne (Barbara) and sister, Linda Harper (Paul). Beloved Uncle to 26 nieces and nephews and 5 great-nieces and nephews.

Rick was born in Upper Darby, PA on January 9, 1956 and grew up in Annandale, Va where he spent his childhood days swimming at Camelot Community Club. Rick graduated from WT Woodson High School in Fairfax, Va (1974) and the McIntire School of Commerce, University of Virginia (1978).

Rick's love of swimming evolved into training and competing in triathlons. He swam The Great Chesapeake Bay Swim twice and the Alcatraz Swim. As a tribute to his mother who died from pancreatic cancer, he also participated in the Purple Swim and Purple Stride. Rick supported the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. His sister, Linda, was a childhood survivor of leukemia.
Rick was the Senior Vice President for Global Real Estate Practice for Willis. To Rick, his clients became his friends. He mentored associates and developed lifelong relationships that extended beyond the workplace.

Travel was his passion. Rick visited six continents. He traveled the world from Australia to Patagonia. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his extended family in Slovenia.

Rick married his kindred soul and favorite travel partner, Marjan Gucek on May 3, 2014. They spent eleven wonderful years together.

Visitation will be held October 23, 2015 at from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Services will be held October 24, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
