A Philadelphia death certificate records the March 3, 1901 death of 31 year old Mary H. Markley. She was living at 1309 Morris Street [same as the above 1900 census record] and her cause of death was Traumatic Tetanus following a self performed abortion. [Tetanus following infection of a wound] She was buried March 7, 1901 at Odd Fellows Cemetery. According to Lawnview Cemetery records, "Mary A. Markley. 31" was "removed to Mt. Moriah Cemetery Oct. 10, 1925".

Mary married Harry Weber Markley, son of John W. Markley and Amanda E. Baumbaugh, circa 1897 in Philadelphia. (Harry Weber Markley was born in Dec 1869 in Pennsylvania, died on 24 Jun 1941 in Philadalphia, PA and was buried on 26 Jun 1941 in Lawnview Cemetery, Rockledge, Montgomery Co., PA.) The cause of his death was Cardiac Decompensation / Chronic Valvular Endocarditis / Chronic Myocarditis.
