It appears that Dwight L. Moody Devaux was born in Pennsylvania then moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. His father was Dr. Martin Van Buren Devaux. D. L. Moody Devaux is listed in Cincimati City Directories as late as 1934. There is an Ohio Death Certificate for him dated Sept, 30, 1934:

(Feb 1889 - PA), and John W. (Jan 1892 - PA). Martin is a Minister.

The 1910 Federal Census for Mt. Pleasant Borough, Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania, District 164, page 78A, dated April 22, 1910 records Moody Devaux (14 - PA/France/Germany) living with his parents Martin V B (53 - Ohio/Ohio/Ohio) and Augusto (52 - Germany/Germany/Germany) Devaux and siblings Della (25 - PA), Spurgeon (23 - PA), Charles (21 - PA), and Walter (18 - PA). Martin is a Clergyman in a Church. Martin and Augusta have been married for 26 years. Augusta immigrated in 1887 and has had 6 children of whom 5 are still living. [The 1887 year of immigration is somewhat suspect due to the 1930 census record below and the fact that Della was born in 1883.]

The 1920 Federal Census for Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, District 11, page 106B, dated January 7, 1920 records Martin V. (63 - Ohio/France/PA) and Augusta (61 - Germany/Germany/Germany) Devaux and children Della (35 - PA), Spurgeon (33 - PA), and Walter (26 - PA). Martin is a Minister.

The 1920 Federal Census for Wilkinsburg, Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania, District 858, page 49B, dated January 15, 1920 records Dwight L. Devaux (24 - PA/Ohio/Germany) with his wife Margurete T. Devaux (23 - PA/PA/PA) and son William D. Devaux (8[months?] - PA).

The 1930 Federal Census for Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, District 21, page 150A, dated April 10, 1930 records the widower D. L. Moody Devaux (33 - PA) and his son William D. Devaux (10 - PA) living with M. V. (73 - Ohio/France/PA) and Augusta (72 - Germany[Bremen]/Germany[Saxony]/Germany) Devaux and their daughter Della (45 - PA). Martin is a Pastor of a Church. Martin and Augusta have been married for 48 years. Augusta immigrated in 1877.

Dwight's 2nd wife, Mary J. Devaux, is living in Roanoke, VA as early as 1935 and reports herself in the City Directory as the widow of Moody Devaux as early as 1936.

Dwight married Mary Elizabeth Jackson, daughter of William Andrew Jackson and Elvia Lee Rooker, circa 1934. (Mary Elizabeth Jackson was born on 18 Dec 1908 and died in Jun 1986 in Roanoke City, VA.)

Dwight next married Marguerite Thelma Marsh. (Marguerite Thelma Marsh was born in May 1896 in Pennsylvania and died circa 1925.)
