Thomas "Tom," TAYLOR 81, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 29, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joyce H. Taylor; daughters, Karen T. Davis (Michael), Denise T. Walters (Andy), Cindy T. Gottschalk and Lisa D. Taylor; sisters, Doris McGrath and Nancie Doss; grandchildren, Drew, Taylor, Kendal, A.J. and Chi-Hsuan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Erroll Taylor; sister, Beulah Collins; grandson, Max; and his beloved dog, Zoey. Tom served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. A retiree of Philip Morris, Tom spent many hours post-retirement camping with his beloved wife. An avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting, he instilled in his family an appreciation for nature and all things created by God. He was a dedicated fan of Duke basketball and Coach "K." The family would like to thank all his caregivers at Henrico Doctor's and St. Mary's Hospitals for their tireless care and devotion during his lengthy illnesses. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 2, at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rte. 10). His funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Dale Memorial Park. The family suggests donations be made to Second Branch Baptist Church, 12217 Second Branch Rd., South Chesterfield, Va. 23838, or the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd., Suite 300, Jacksonville, Fla.
