Robert Heflin married Laura A. Johnson on June 12, 1859 in Granville Co., NC.

The 1880 Federal Census for Brassfield, Granville Co., North Carolina, District 100 records Lucy H. Heeflin (sic) (15 - NC/NC/NC) living with her widowed grandmother, Harriet Heeflin (79 - NC/NC/NC) and brother, Gilbert J. Heeflin (12) and sister Laura A. (6 - NC/NC/NC).
