The 1850 Federal Census for Wyoming Co., West Virginia, page 217A, dated August 29, 1850 records Franklin (33 - NC) and Mary (27 - VA) with their children Louisa (10 - NC), Miles (8 - VA), Wyley (4 - VA), Mira (3 - VA), and Jane (8/12 - VA). Franklin is a farmer with real estate valued at $200. Also in the household is Mary Ann Workman (5 - VA). Next door is George J. Sizemore (53 - NC) with his wife Jane (53 - NC) and their sons Joseph Sizemore (30 - NC), Soloman Sizemore (30 - NC), Marion Sizemore (14 - NC), and daughter Jane Sizemore (10 - VA). On the otherside of Franklin is Joseph Workman (70 - PA), Elizabeth Workman (57 - VA), and Floyd Workman (12 - VA). A few households down, on the same page, is Edward Sizemore (21 - NC) with his wife Jane Sizemore (21 - VA) and son Hiram Sizemore (1 - VA).
While this researcher has no documented proof, Mary Ann Workman is most likely the future bride of Miles and is related to Joseph Workman and George J. and Jane Sizemore are likely parents to Franklin and Edward Sizemore.

O., page 695 [page no. 41], dated July 17, 1860 records Franklin (43 - NC) and Mary (34 - VA) with their children Louisa (20 - NC), Miles (18 - VA), Wiley (14 - VA), Miny (13 - VA), Jane (12 - VA), Cathany (9 - VA), Elizabeth (5 - VA), and Harriet (2). Franklin is a farmer with real estate valued at $1,000 and a personal estate valued at $640.

The 1870 Federal Census for Slab Fork, Wyoming Co., West Virginia, Joes Branch P. O., page 601A, dated September 17, 1870 records Franklin (44 - VA) and Mary (42 - VA) with their children Elmira (22 - VA), Catherine (17 - VA), Elizabeth (13 - VA), Hariet (9), and Margaret (7 - VA). Franklin is a farmer with real estate valued at $250 and a personal estate valued at $225.

The 1880 Federal Census for Slab Fork, Wyoming Co., West Virginia, District 159, page 537B, dated June 16, 1880 records Franklin (62 - NC/TN/NC) and Mary (58 - VA/VA/VA) with their recently married daughter, Cathany Halsy (23 - VA) and her husband Robt M. Halsy (21 - NC/NC/VA) who were married Nov 16, 1879.

The 1900 Federal Census for Slab Fork, Wyoming Co., West Virginia, District 144, page 289B, dated June 14, 1900 records Mary Sizemore (Oct 1820 - WV/WV/WV) living with her daughter Mariah Miller (May 1850 - WV) and her husband William Miller (Feb 1855 - NC/NC/NC) and their children Susan C. (Feb 1882), Cray (March 1883), Clara V. (June 1889), and Boyd J. (July 1891). Wm and Mariah were married on May 26, 1871 and according to the WV marriage record he was 16 and she was 21. Wm was born in Ash Co., NC to Jacob & Rhoda Miller.

The census record on page 40 reports Franklin Sizemore (20-30), 1 female (15-20), 1 female (<5) and then George Sizemore (40-50), 2 males (15-20), 2 males (10-15), 1 male (<5), 1 female (40-50), 1 female (20-30), 1 female (15-20), 1 female (10-15), 1 female (5-10), 1 female (<5).

George J. SIZEMORE (son of George Edward SIZEMORE and Anna Elizabeth HART) was born Abt. 1797 in Wilkes County, NC, and died Abt. 1877 in Cedarsburg, Wyoming County, WV. He married Virginia Jane BALDWIN on Abt. 1815 in Ashe County, North Carolina, daughter of William BALDWIN and Jane LANDRETH.

Franklin married Mary Elizabeth Workman. (Mary Elizabeth Workman was born circa 1823 in Virginia and died after 1900 in Slab Fork, Wyoming Co., West Virginia.) The cause of her death was Coronary Thrombosis / Angina Pectoris / Heart Disease.
