From 41st Virginia Infantry Regimental Histories Series: Erastus Armstrong was conscripted from the Virginia Militia on 4/11/1862 as a Private in Company B. He was WIA at Malvern Hill 7/1/1862 and never returned to duty due to his serious wound. He was dropped from rolls in December 1862. Apparently he was arrested as a civilian by Union forces in March of 1864 ... see below.
