Dorothy M. Fisher, 86, of Millersville, passed away on Friday afternoon at the Essa Flory Hospice Center, following a lengthy illness. Born in Lancaster, PA she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Margaret Poole Hagen. Dorothy was the wife of Jacob Fisher, together they celebrated their 69th anniversary on November 8, 2010.
Dorothy was a homemaker and attended Calvary Baptist Church. She was a youth group leader at her former church, Grace Evangelical Congregational Church. She enjoyed bowling, fishing and babysitting her grandchildren. She loved her family deeply.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Jacob, her three daughters, Kathleen Barley wife of the late Lloyd of Akron, PA, Patricia Haas wife of Donald of Mt. Joy, PA, Sharon Sweigart of Millersville, PA, eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters and a great-granddaughter.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Life Celebration Service from Calvary Baptist Church, 530 Milton Rd., Lancaster, PA on Thursday at 3:00pm with the Rev. Dale Parmer officiating. Interment will be held at Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. The family will receive friends at church from 2:00pm until the time of services.
