There is a PA Death Certificate for a divorced Mrs. Mary Eckman whose parents are named Daniel and Margaret Hagen and has the informant as Richard Eckman.
The 1920 census record below lists a Mary Eckman with a son, Richard Eckman ... however, she is living with a family and her relation is listed as daughter.
The 1920 Federal Census for East Lampeter, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, District 39, page 137A, dated January 21, 1920 records a married Mary Eckman (18 - PA/PA/PA) with a son, Richard Eckman (1 1/12) living with her father, Henry Beek (69 - PA/PA/PA) and his other children Charles (35) and Edwin (40). This may not be the person on the death certificate in that the 1910 census for East Lampeter, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, District 56, page 11B, dated May 5, 1910 records Mary E. Beck (9) living with her parents Henry B. (59) and Sue (54) Beck and siblings Edwin M. (31), Henry E. (27), and Charles H. (25). Henry and Sue have been married for 32 years and have had 9 children of whom 5 are still living ... the 5 is written over a 4. Of course it is unusual for there to be 16 years difference in age for the two youngest so perhaps Mary was born to Daniel and Margaret out of wedlock and given up for adoption. Then there is the question of why Daniel and Margaret would give the name Mary to 2 daughters.
