Laverne L. Stauffer, 80, Akron, formerly of Lititz, entered into rest at Moravian Manor, Lititz, on Tuesday, September 25, 2007.
Born in Brunnerville, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Myrtle (Lang) Longenecker. She was the wife of the late Theodore R. Stauffer Jr., who passed away in 1963.
She was a member of Hope United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Lititz High School, class of 1945 and was a member of the Ephrata Rec Center's Golden Years Club.
A seamstress, she worked for the SLC sewing factory until her retirement in 1991. She was also a caregiver for Special Care Services of Lancaster County. As hobbies, she enjoyed bicycling, bird watching, gardening and card games.
She is survived by three sons, Theodore R III, husband of Vonda (Agnew) Stauffer of Arlington, TX, Douglas G. Stauffer of Lewisberry, and Arthur L., husband of Virginia (Muckle) Stauffer of Manheim, one daughter, Carol Louise, wife of William Martin of Lititz, one sister, Mary Jane, wife of John Weinhold of Beaver Creek, OH, 4 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
Besides her husband, Laverne was preceded in death by her sister, Hazel Sauder.
Funeral at Hope United Methodist Church, Ephrata; burial at Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster.
