Betty Jean Sumrell, 81, also known as Betty Jean Munden, passed Oct. 16, 2006, in her home with her loving husband of 28 years Paul, by her side. A native of Bluefield, W.Va., and daughter of the late PeeDee and Mrs. Catherine Hester. Betty was a woman's woman, she led a very productive and full life. She was a well known and respected American Kennel Club judge for more than 25 years, and retired as a quality assurance agent after 20 years with NARF. Left to cherish her loving memory are her husband, Paul, Michael Angotti and Debra Shaw, and her nurse, Grace Shelton, known by the family as "Amazing Grace" and a host of friends. A graveside tribute will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Woodlawn Mausoleum, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer's Association, Hampton Roads Chapter, 6315 N. Center Drive, Ste. 233, Norfolk, VA 23502.
