The previous home, dwelling # 255, records Judah Lewis (41) [female] and the one before that records Tamey Lewis (35), Eliza Lewis (16), Hillsman Lewis (13), and Sallie Lewis (9).

The 1860 Federal Census for Oldfields District, Wilson Co., North Carolina, page 240A, dated July 12, 1860 records Ransom Lewis (5 - NC) living with his mother, Zillah Lewis (30 - NC), and siblings William (10), Jane (3) and Nelly (2/12). Also in the home are James Lewis (21), Willy Lewis (25), Cely Lewis (20), and Joseph Lewis (18). James and Joseph are in the Turpentine Business while their sisters are domestics.
