Mary Elizabeth Moore, 94, died Sept. 23, 2005, at Tandem Healthcare of Windsor. A native of Isle of Wight County, she was a daughter of the late Crawley and Bessie Andrews Duck and the widow of John Wallace Moore Sr. Mrs. Moore was a 1933 graduate of Holland High School, member of the Windsor Young at Hearts Club and a member of South Quay Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, John Wallace Moore Jr. and wife Mary Ann of Windsor and Bill Moore and companion Peggy of Chesapeake; one brother, Irving Daughtrey Duck of Suffolk; two grandchildren, John Robert Moore of Virginia Beach and Julia Elizabeth Lersch and husband Kent of Denver, Colo.; one great-granddaughter, Kirsten Elisabeth Lersch; a host of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Audrey Spencer. Mrs. Moore was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Sue Duck and three brothers, Glaspa, William and Garland Duck. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Patrick Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in South Quay Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and suggest memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o June Cooley, 112 Sunset Drive, Franklin, VA 23851.
