Mary Frances Phippins Duck, 81, widow of Garland Andrews Duck Sr., died May 5, 2008. Mrs. Duck was born in Isle of Wight County, a daughter of the late Norman and Mary Duck Phippins. She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church and the Faithful Servants Sunday School Class. Survivors include her daughter, Shirley D. Warren (Earl) of Franklin; her son, Garland Andrews "Andy" Duck Jr. (Cindy) of Howe, Texas; three grandchildren, Beth Warren Rodgers (Rich), Mark Andrews Warren (Jennifer) and Michael Andrews Duck; four great- grandchildren, Evan Rodgers, Nash Warren, Luke Warren and Ryan Rodgers; and nieces and nephews. A funeral will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. A. Richard Childress and the Rev. Sharon James officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and suggests memorials be made to Franklin Baptist Church, 208 N.
