BIRGIT ANDERSEN FURLOW, 70 was an elder and former secretary of the Church of the Convenant, Arlington, VA died of lung cancer August 18, 2002. Mrs. Furlow was born in Copenhagen Denmark and was a red cap graduate of a Danish gymnasium. In additon to her native Danish she was fluent in English, Swedish, German, and French.
Mrs. Furlow came to the United States in 1958 and was on the staff at the New York office of a Danish shipping company and later she became a program director at George Washington University.
Her first husband Col. James B. Buck USAF died in 1982. She is survived by her husband, Edward P. Furlow, six children of her husbands' earlier marriages, their wives, 11 grandchildren, as well as a number of great grandchildren. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Covenant Arlington, VA. In lieu of flowers it is suggested that contributions be made to the Memorial Fund to the Church Of The Convenant.

Birgit married James Baird Buck, son of Major General Beaumont Bonaparte Buck and Suzanne Long, on 14 Jun 1986 in Arlington, VA. (James Baird Buck was born on 13 Feb 1912 in Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital, Phillipines and died on 16 Oct 1982 in Arlington, VA.) The cause of his death was Respiratory Arrest / Gastric Carcinoma.
