Also in the household is domestice servant Mary Burnes (56) and her son Levi Burnes (14). Alfred is a farmer with real estate valued at $2,300 and personal property at $1,023. Future domestic servant, Melvina Martin (39) lives nearby with her husband Isaac Martin (42).

The 1850 Federal Census for Warrren Co., VA, page 3 records Alfred Fristoe(18) in the home of his father, Silas Fristoe (48). Also in the household are children Milton (22), Arthur (18), James (11), and Charles (6) as well as Catherine D. Fristoe (43) and her children Sarah (16), Amanda (14), Laura (3), and Emma (1). It appears that Catherine is the wife of Silas and the census taker merely segregated the listing of males and females. Next door is Lucy Fristoe (70) and her daughters Mariam (29) and Julia (27). All Fristyoe family members are born in Virginia.

Alfred married Sarah Catherine Hockman circa 1852 in Warren Co., Virginia. (Sarah Catherine Hockman was born on 27 Jan 1833 in Virginia and died on 4 Mar 1894 in Warren Co., Virginia.)
