Actually, I was looking up some answers in Birth, Marriages, Deaths on a site & saw your "personal tree" named HagenFamilyFiles2007. There was Roy Miles name, so I wrote you.
Roy & Marie Taylor were the parents of Patsy, Roy Miles, & Gail Taylor. Their home-place was a little distance from Deltaville which was just a wide spot in the road, as I recall.
Since I only know the Taylor's as friends, I probably don't have any information for you re: your grandfather or his kin.
Yes, you were lucky to meet your aunt & develop a relationship w/ her. I, too, was unaware of my father's side of my family until I began my research. I found bits of information in my mothers belongings after she passed on in 2001 at age 96. She never threw anything away, lucky for me! So, now, in my fathers' ancestry, I have gone back to 1530, and have been blessed by the knowledge I now have.
I would be so pleased if you would pass the "Taylor" info on to your cousin & will be grateful if she could update me on the family.

Perhaps you could id your relation to Roy Miles Taylor. He was my cousin's husband but I did not know him nor his family. Who are Mr. Roy's & Miss Marie's ???? Who is Patsy ????

If you are interested I will send your info to my cousin. The Deltaville connection sounds interesting ... my grandfather had a "place at the river" ... the Rappahanock I believe. I never went there ... not sure why .... I barely knew my grandfather ... did you??? I am very interested to know about the man ... I never knew my dad's sisters either ... I was lucky enough to meet one of them when I started my family research ... we had many great visits before she died. The other 2 had passed away too young ... the youngest was just 67 and died a few months before I began my search and contact efforts. Her last address was Mathews, VA ... near Deltaville.
