Selidon Crostic
Beach, VA, April 1: Selidon Crostic, a prominent farmer, died at his residence near here yesterday. He is survived by his wife, eight children, and one sister, Mrs. Samuel P. Wilkinson, all of whom reside near the place. Mr. Crostic was in his fifty-fifth year of age and had lived in this neighborhood all of his life, save a few years of his early life, which he spent railroading on the Mobile and Ohio Railroad.

The 1850 Federal Census for Lower Revenue District, Chesterfield Co., VA, page 132A, dated September 10, 1850 records Barnet (41 - VA) and Maria (43 - VA) Crostick and son, Saladen Crostick (1 - VA).

The 1870 Federal Census for Dale, Chesterfield Co., VA, Manchester P. O., page 397B, dated August 20, 1870 records Marian Crostic (17 - VA) livibg with her parents Barnett (60 - VA) and Maria (62 - Maryland) Crostic and brother, Seldon Crostic (21 - VA). Barnett is a farmer with real estate valued at $600 and a personal estate valued at $200.

The 1880 Federal Census for Dale, Chesterfield Co., VA, District 67, page 33A, dated June 28, 1880 records Bernard (71 - VA/VA/VA) and Mariah S. (73 - VA/VA/VA) Crostick and son, S. Crostick (21 - VA) with his wife Anne Elizabeth (24) and children Will F. (4), Harvey E. (3), Ida Florence (2), and George Allen (8/12). Barnett is a farmer.

Marion married Samuel P. Wilkinson circa 1872 in Virginia. (Samuel P. Wilkinson was born in Jan 1833 in Virginia and died circa 1915 in Clover Hill, Chesterfield Co., VA.)
