JASON CUTCHIN DEATH OF A GOOD MAN
We regret to announce the death of Mr. Jason Cutchin, a well-known citizen of the Franklin community. He died at his home, in Isle of Wight County, on Thursday, August 16, 1900, aged seventy-two years. He was a brother of the late John A. Cutchin, a leading farmer of Nansemond County. The Cutchin brothers have contributed largely to our agricultural interests, and the subject of this notice successfully followed the same pursuit. He was a quiet and useful citizen, and the oldest member of South Quay Baptist church, in which he had served with promptness and fidelity. He leaves a widow and four children - Messrs. John and James Cutchin, and Mesdames [madames ... a reference that these are daughters] Grey and [Virginia] Vaughan, an only brother - Mr. Hilary Cutchin - and a large circle of relatives to mourn his death. Peace to his memory, and comfort to the bereaved.
