(April 1840 - Indiana/Indiana/Indiana) and Lyda (April 1852 - NY/NY/NY) and sisters Lucille A. (March 1876 - NY/NY/NY) and Cordela P. (January 1880 - Iowa/NY/NY) living at 1407 2nd Avenue. A. M. has been married for 25 years and is employed as a Tinner. Lyda has had 3 children. Interesting that the children indicate their father was born in New York while the father reports Indiana as his place of birth.

However, the 1880 census reveals additional quesions for place of birth: The 1880 Federal Census for Glidden, Carroll Co., Iowa, District 34, page 399A, dated June 1, 1880 records Maria P. Shelley (3 - Iowa) with her parents Artemus M. (40 - Michigan/PA/NY) and Lida A. (35 - NY/Vermont/NY) Shelley and sisters Lucille A. (4 - NY) and Cordelia P. (5/12 - Iowa) living on Dakotah Street. Artemus is a Tin Smith.
