The 1910 Federal Census for the Sayre Borough, Bradford Co., Pennsylvania, District 31, page 263A, dated April 20, 1910 records Julia McMahon (27 - NY/NY/NY) with son Mathew (2 - PA) boarding at 304 Maple Street in the home of Charles W. (26) and Mary A. (23) Hunsinger. Julia is listed as married for 3 years with one child and employed as a book keeper at a laundry.

The 1920 Federal Census for Athens Township in the Sayre Borough, Bradford Co., Pennsylvania, District 31, page 11B, dated January 27, 1920 records the widow Julia McMahon (34 - NY/Ireland/Ireland) boarding at 219 Desmond Street in the home of her brother-in-law Robert E. Lynch (31 - PA/Ireland/Ireland) and his wife Mary J. Lynch (29 - Delaware/Ireland/Ireland) and their daughter Marjorie Lynch (8 - PA) living at 219 Desmond Street. Julia is employed as a clerk in a Rail Road Office while Robert is a Machinist at an Automobile Factory. Her son, Mathew, is not listed here. Note: The "sister-in-law" reference is to the fact that Mary J. Lynch is Julia's sister.

The 1930 Federal Census for the Sayre Borough, Bradford Co., Pennsylvania, District 34, page 14B records Julia A. McMahan (43 - New York) with son Mathew W. (22) living at 122 North Elmer Ave. Julia is not employed and Mathew works as a draftsman at the steam railroad.

.... Also in 1930 living nearby at 216 North Elmer is Thomas J. O Neil (54 - PA/PA/PA) with wife Anna (47) and son Robert (17). Also in the household is sister-in-law Mary McMahan (54 - widow). Thomas and Anna have been married for 25 years. Mary is said to have been married to James McMahon. However, the 1900 census for Sayre records a Thomas ONeil (Feb 1874) living as a son-in-law in the household of Jacob (April 1853) and Mary (April 1857) Loux. Thomas is married to Anna (April 1881) and she has a sister Mary (Sept 1875). They are living on Elmer Avenue. Well ... the 1910 census for Sayre (District 29, page 226A) records Jacob Laux (widower) living at 216 Elmer Ave. Also in the household are daughters Anna Oneil (28) and Mary McMahon (32 - widow) with her child, Maria McMahon (6) and son Leo Laux (15). Apparently this McMahon is not our McMahon because James Thomas McMahon is listed as living with his mother in his WWI Draft Record - although perhaps Mary [Laux] McMahon perferred to report her status as widowed rather than divorced ... more reserach is needed !!! For reference: The 1920 Federal Census for Sayre (District 31, page Jacob A. Laux (64) as head of a household with Mary McMahon (43), Anna O'Neil (36), Dr. Leo Laux (25), Thomas O'Neil (45 - NY/Ireland/Irelnad, Bookeeper for LVRR), Marie McMahon (15), and Robert O'Neil (7). Jacob is still an Engineer for a Steam Railroad and living at 216 North Elmer Street.

The 1940 Federal Census for the Sayre Borough, Bradford Co., Pennsylvania, District 8-34, page 330B, dated May 7, 1940 records the widow Julia Mc Mahn (sic) (55 - NY) renting a place at 310 S Lehigh Avenue at $20 / month in the home of Michael (65) and Alma (55) Walls. Julia has completed 8 years of schooling and has no employment.

Julia is buried next to her 2nd husband, Leo Swan.
