Driver Guilty in Traffic Death
Ira Grimm, 24, listed as 313 Terrace Dr., Silver Hill, Md., pleaded guilty yesterday in Municipal Court to chargers of negligent homicide in the traffic death Saturday of Wayne E. Tollinger, 47, of 5824 Colorado Ave., NW.
Judge Andrew J. Howard Jr. deferred sentencing to June 17 pending a probation report. Grimm was released on $500 bond.
Assistant U. S. Attorney Walter J. Bonner said Tollinger, a taxi cab driver, was hurled 70 feet when he stepped from his cab at 9th st. and Maine ave. sw. and was hit by Grimm's car. Tollinger had internal injuries and fractures. He died at Emergency Hospital three hours later.
