The 1900 Federal Census for Upper Sinking Creek, Erase, Knox Co., Kentucky, District 64, page 185B, dated June 23, 1900 records Willis (March 1867 - KY/KY/KY) and China (June 1869 - KY/KY/KY) Warren with there children Frank (Jan 1889) [January 28, 1888 - February 10, 1939], Amelia (May 1891), Sarah (April 1893), Maggie (May 1895), McKinley (June 1897), Amanda (Dec 1899), and Effie (Dec 1899). Willis is a farmer. Also in the household is mother-in-law Amelia Taylor (Nov 1830).
Note: Amelia Warren married a Baker, had a son, George Baker, in 1912, and died on Nov 20, 1914 in Lexington, Fayette Co., KY.

The 1910 Federal Census for District 7, Marion Co., Kentucky, District 93, page 250B, dated April 19, 1910 records Willis (43 - KY/VA/KY) and
Lucy (37 - KY/KY/KY) Warren. This is the 2nd marriage for Willis and 3rd for Lucy. They have been married 4 years. Lucy has had 5 children of whom 4 are still living. Also in the household is Willis' daughter, Maggie Warren (15), a niece, Maggie Howard (10), and Lucy's children from her marriage with Harrison Taylor: Wilson Taylor (18), Henry Taylor (14), America Taylor (11), and Pearlie Taylor (8).
Note: Harrison Taylor was 40 years older than Lucy

DAYTON(OH) DAILY NEWS.
Garrett Broughton Sr., age 78, of Springboro (OH), formerly of Pineville KY, passed away February 5, 2005 at Sycamore Hospital. He was born on March 25, 1926 in Alex Creek, Knox County, KY, the son of Millard and Sarah Ellen (Warren) Broughton. He was a coal miner for Crockett Mining and was a member of the UMWA. Preceding him in death was a daughter Kathleen Mills Hopkins, a brother Orbin, a sister Ernie Howard. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lillie; a son Garrett Broughton Jr. and Norma Lawson of Springboro; 2 daughters, Ruth and Clarence Sparks and Shirley and Eddie Smith; son-in-law, Leroy Hopkins; brothers, Henry, Herbert, and Delbert Jr.; sisters, Elsie Jones, Thelma, Mert, Lynda, Hazel, Arizona (?) and numerous other brothers and sisters. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jeff, Suzanne, Christy, Robert, Kathryn, Travis, Melody, Angie, Roberta, Jimmy, Travis, Timothy, Garrett III, Arnold Ray, Rebecca and 19 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2pm February 10, 2005 at the Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. Second St., Franklin OH with Rev Don J. Slusher, Don Lee Slusher and Terrell Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Woodhill Cemetery. Visitation will be 11am until time of service at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Talmage Porter MD and staff. Garrett BROUGHTON married Lillie SLUSHER (dau. of Mathew and Clara JACKSON SLUSHER) in Bell Co. on Oct 2, 1946.

Garrett BROUGHTON's father was Millard BROUGHTON (1893-1947) and his mother was Sarah Ellen WARREN (1893-1927).

Millard BROUGHTON's parents were Anthony BROUGHTON who was married to my grandpa, Garrett TAYLOR's older sister, Susan "Susie" TAYLOR. Garrett and Susan were both children of Harrison TAYLOR and his wife, Mary Ann HUTCHINS TAYLOR. Harrison was a s/o Cornelius Alexander TAYLOR b. 1792; d. 1874 in Knox Co., KY.

Sarah Ellen WARREN's parents were: Elias "Willis" WARREN and China TAYLOR. Their parentage too traces back to Cornelius Alexander TAYLOR.
