In 1843 the James Garrett family left Rockingham Co., NC and went to Missouri and stayed. Daughter Sallie Garrett had married William Trent in 1833 and moved to Henry Co., Virginia to raise her family. James' sons Jarrett Bolden and William Starling returned to Rockingham Co., N.C. Many Garretts of Missouri returned to the Virginia North Carolina area occationally for visits.
Sarah married William Bailey Trent, son of William Henry Trent and Catherine Elizabeth Weber, on 23 Dec 1833 in Farm Near Madison, N.C. (William Bailey Trent was born on 5 Nov 1811 in Virginia, died on 11 Apr 1886 in Knox Co., Tennessee and was buried in Trentville Cemetery, Knox Co., Tennessee.)
