The list prepared by Inez Hagen for invitation to her son's August 1971 wedding (Bo & Mary Lou) included Mrs. Nicholas Allan Vaughan. This is most likely the person this researcher remembers his mother calling "Toady Vaughan", wife of her cousin, Beulah Farmer Vaughan.

Allen Vaughan (30) with his wife Beulah Vaughan (30) living on Hopkins Road. Allen has completed 7 years of schooling and is working as an Optician for an Optical Dispensing Company earning $1,300 during the last year. Beulah has completed 3 years of high school and is working as a Bookkeeper for a Wholesale Optical Company earning $530 working 38 weeks during the last year.

The SSDI along with the 1930 Census points to the likely husband of Beulah Farmer ... This researcher remembers his mom say that she was "going to Tody Vaughan for eye glasses" and the 1930 census has Nicholas' occupation as optician and he is living in Chesterfield Co. which is where Beulah is living at that time:

Wilton is a farmer on Hopkins Road.

The 1910 Federal Census for Bermuda, Chesterfield Co., Virginia, District 1, page 11A, dated May 2, 1910 records Wilton (34 - VA/VA/VA) and Ella L. (32 - VA/VA/VA) Vaughan with children Bernice M. (9), Julian N. (8), Elsie L. (7), Lizzie B. (6), Gracie M. (5), Charles E. (1 7/12). Wilton is a farmer and has been married to Ella for 10 years. They have had 6 children all of whom are still living. Nearby is the Wilton's father, the widower William H. Vaughan (73 - born 1837), living with his son in law Joseph L. Bennett (35 - VA/VA/VA) with his wife Susie E. Bennett (27 - VA/VA/VA) and children Earnest E. (8), Joseph L. Jr. (8), Harvey T. (6), and Lottie S. (1 6/12).
