Elsie Coleman Mitchell
REIDSVILLE \emdash Elsie Coleman Mitchell, 85, of 381 Bell Road, died Saturday, February 7, 2009, at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 9, with Rev. George Fox officiating.
A native of Alamance County, she was a daughter of the late Eddie and Flossie Pickrell Coleman and had lived in Reidsville most of her life. She was retired from Chase Bag Co. and was a member of Baptist Temple Church.
Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmon D. "Buck" Mitchell and by her sister, Carlene C. Smith.
Surviving are her daughter, Shirley M. Carver and husband, Ronald, of Reidsville; brothers, Hayward Coleman of Reidsville and Melvin Coleman and wife, Alice, of Chesapeake, Md.; sister, Betty Gann and husband, Lloyd, of Burlington; grandchildren, Michelle C. Moore and husband, Robby, of Reidsville, Nick Carver and special friend, Tabitha Amos, of Madison; very special great-grandson, Tamson J. Moore; sisters-in-law, Marion "Pete" Snow and Esther Gammon, both of Reidsville; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will see friends from 6 until 8 p.m. tonight, Sunday, at Citty Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the residence.
