Liberty Springs Christian Church Cemetery is located at the intersection of Liberty Springs Road and Whaleyville Blvd. in Suffolk, Va. Liberty Springs Christian Church was organized 03-14-1869 and the 1st building was dedicated 12-31-1873. The next building was dedicated 04-30-1905 and destroyed by fire 07-10-1985.

John E. Norfleet 6th Virginia Infantry, Company E (2nd), Private Norfleet was born February 18, 1838 in Nansemond Co., Va., the son of John A. and Rachel Norfleet. He married Garophilia Skinner (b. 1851), daughter of William H. and Christian Skinner on November 17, 1870. He was a farmer before the war. Norfleet was wounded at Burgess Mill. He died September 1st, 1917 and was buried in Liberty Springs Christian Church Cemetery.

John married Garafelia Skinner, daughter of William Henry Skinner and Christian Harrell, circa 1870 in Nansemond Co, VA. (Garafelia Skinner was born on 8 Dec 1851 in Nansemond Co, VA, died on 6 Jun 1907 in Holy Neck, Nansemond Co, VA. and was buried in Liberty Springs Christian Church Cemetery.)
