John Frederick
- Born: Abt 1825, Ohio
- Marriage (1): Ester E. Hanna
- Marriage (2): Mahala Winkle
- Died: After 1870
General Notes:
The 1870 Federal Census records a John Frederick living in the City of Eddyville, Columbia Township, Wapello Co., Iowa apparently with a wife or daughter Mahala (27-keeping house) and daughter Elsie Ann (22). Since John does not appear to have a wife, and Mahala does not appear in earlier census records, it can be assumed that Ester has died and John has taken another wife, Mahala. This is most likely the correct family for Elsie in that apparent future husband Samuel Kavanaugh resides in this same town but more research is needed (June 2004).
The 1860 Federal Census records a John Frederick living in Oregon Township, Washington Co., Iowa with wife Ester E. (32) and children Alvarado (11), Joseph H. (9), Hester E. (8), Eldrea A. (3), and Martha J. (11/12). This is most likely the correct family and Eldrea A. (3) is actually Elsie Ann (13).
The 1850 Federal Census records a John Fredrick (25) with wife Ester E. (23) and daughter Elles Calfurnia (3) living in Saline Township, Jefferson Co., Ohio.
John married Ester E. Hanna. (Ester E. Hanna was born about 1828 in Ohio and died about 1865 in Iowa.)
John next married Mahala Winkle. (Mahala Winkle was born about 1834 in Ohio.)
