The 1850 U.S. Census, Virginia, Fauquier Co., Ashby District, page 265B records Thomas S Hall (37) with wife Angelina (34) and children Snowden C. (15), Mary M. (9), Richard N. (5), Thomas S. Jr.(1), and Charlotte Hall (45). Thomas is listed as both farmer and Marshall.
The 1860 Federal Census, Virginia, Stafford Co., page 880 (July 10) records Snowden C. Hall (24) living with Richard M. Hall (15). The 1860 Federal Census, Virginia, Fauquier Co., page 271 (recorded Aug. 28) lists Thomas S. Hall Sr. (49) with wife Angelina K. (44), and children Mary M. (19), Richard N. (14), Thomas S. Jr. (11), Goldsborough (6), and Norman N. (9/12). Also in the household is Charlotte Hall(60). Thomas is fairly wealthy with Real Estate valued at $12, 000 and personal property at $6000.
During the Civil War Snowden C. Hall served in Co. A of the 6th Virginia Cavalry.
The 1870 Federal Census, Virginia, Loudoun Co., Southern District, Aldie Post Office, page 249 records Snowden C. Hall (35) with wife Lucinda S. (28) and daughter Nannie (2) living in the home of Thomas M. Boyle, Physician. Boarding in the house are Angeline K. Hall (53) with apparent children Thomas S. (20), Edward G. (16), and Norman N. (10).
The 1880 Federal Census for Wicomico, Northumberland Co., VA records Goldsborough Hall (born ca 1856) and Norman Hall (born ca 1860) as brothers to Snowden (born ca 1836) all in the same household with Lucinda and children. Thomas S. Hall (30) and wife Mary E. (30) and children Lue H. (2) and Howard B. (1) are living nearby. The census lists Snowden's father from Maryland and mother from Virginia.
The 1900 Federal Census for Wicomico, Northumberland Co., VA, ED#70 , page 89A records S. C. Hall (Oct 1841 - female/wd) [this must be Lucinda] with children Snowden C. (Dec 1871), Daisey (Mar 1879), Harry D. (May 1882), Eugene H. (Oct 1883), Ida M. (Feb 1887). Also in the household are Snowden's nephews, Howard B. and Samuel Hall. They are his brother Thomas' children.
