The 1850 Federal Census for Hertford Co., NC page 320B/321A records William (33-NC-Coach Maker) and Emily (30) Ellinor with children Julia (9), Francis R. (7), William T. (5), Martha A. (3), and Horatio B. (2/12). Also in the household is Charles G. Ellinor (22-Cabinet Maker) who is probably William's brother.

The 1860 Federal Census for Hertford Co., NC page 320B/321A records William (34-Gates Co., NC-Farmer) and Emily (38) Ellener with children Julia (18-Gates, Teacher of G. School), Francis (16-Hertford Co.), Thomas W. (14-Hertford), M. A. (11-Hertford), H. N. B. [Horatio] (9-Hertford), E. M. [Emma] (7-Hertford), S. E. (6-Hertford), Caroline (4-Hertford), and Virginia (8/12-Hertford).

Apparently both William and Emily have died by 1870 because the children have been dispersed: Francis is married and living in Nansemond Co., VA. Horatio is in Portsmouth, VA. But more importantly, the younger children: Caroline: is living with her married sister, Martha (23) [Martha A. Green] and husband John L. Green (37) and children Sarah (4) and Percival (1) (as recorded in the 1870 census for Winton, Hertford Co., NC).

William married Emily Eure. (Emily Eure was born circa 1821 in Gates Co, NC and died after 1860 in Hertford Co., N. C..)
