The 1900 Federal Census for Gregorys Store, Mecklenburg Co., VA, District 42, page 20A / 20B, dated June 20, 1900 records Eunice Smith (April 1896) with her widowed mother, Laurie (sic) Smith (Jan 1874) and siblings Bessie (Sept 1892) and Edward Smith (April 1894) living at the home of Louisa's parents James M. (Aug 1833 - NC/NC/NC) and Mary F. (1835 - NC/NC/NC) Thomasson. Louisa indicates that she was married for 8 years and has had 3 children. James and Mary report being married for 45 years and having had 12 children of whom 8 are still living.
The 1910 Federal Census for Bluestone, Mecklenburg Co., VA, District 48, page 13A, dated May 6, 1910 records Eunice Smith (13) with her widowed mother, Louisa Smith (35) and siblings Bissie (sic) (17) and Ned Smith (16) living at the home of Willie H. Adcock (35) and his widowed mother Catherine Adcock (70) on Gillespie Road. The Adcocks and Smiths are not related.

Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Mrs. Smith, 74, died yesterday in Roman Eagle Nursing Home after an illness of 10 months. She was born in Mecklenburg County April 17, 1897, a daughter of Henry Gibson Smith and Frances Louisa Thomasson Smith*. She was married to Elvin Finch Smith, who died Feb 13, 1963. Mrs. Smith had been a resident of Danville since 1940 and was a member of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Jack W. Garrett of Danville; one sister, Mrs. Bessie Lawson of Chase City; three granddaughters and five great-grandchildren. * The death certificate of her mother gives the name Louise Josephine Thomasson Smith
