Douglass Dyer YOUNG, age 58, born June 15, 1956, in Richmond, Va., passed away on July 7, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Audrey S. and Alvin W. Dyer Jr. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Robert Leslie Young; son, Robert Leslie Young Jr. "Les"; brothers, Brian Dyer, John Dyer; sister, Deborah Rock; and stepmother, Elizabeth "Libby" Dyer. Douglass worked in the University of Richmond Bookstore for 17 years, where she was loved and respected by many. She was known throughout the university. Douglass was a loving mother and wife and will be deeply missed. She enjoyed travel, especially with her son. She enjoyed local arts and concerts with her husband and son. In her honor, the University of Richmond flew the school flag at half mast last week. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 16, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens and a Celebration of Life will follow at Reveille United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Reveille United Methodist Church, 4200 West Cary St., Richmond, Va. Her spirit and soul are now in Heaven with those she loved.
