Roger Coleman
Roger William Coleman, 70, formerly of Paintsville, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012.
He was born in Pike County, Feb. 26, 1942, the son of the late George W. and Carrie E. (Gross) Coleman.
Roger was a retired factory worker. He proudly served this country in the United State Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, George E. Coleman, Bernie Owen Coleman, Ronald Spencer Coleman and Walter R. Coleman; and two sisters, Elmo Rita Clark and Inos Copley.
Roger is survived by four brothers, Gary Coleman (Barbara), Alden Arthur Coleman (Lottie), Buford Coleman (Lena) and Paul E. Coleman; and one sister, Flois Bloomfield.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, in the Thacker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under direction of Thacker Memorial Funeral Home of Pikeville.

Roger William Coleman, 70, formerly of Paintsville, Kentucky passed away September 5, 2012.
He was born February 26, 1942, Pike County, Kentucky; his parents are the late George W. and Carrie E. "Gross" Coleman.
After graduating high school, Roger served ten years in the United States Army which included a tour of duty in Vietnam; during his service in Vietnam, he received the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam service medal with three stars. After his military service he worked twenty-two years for a subsidiary of the 3M Company in Hickory, North Carolina and returned to Pike County in 1997.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers; George E. Coleman, Bernie Owen Coleman, Ronald Spencer Coleman, and Walter R. Coleman; and two sisters; Elmo Rita Clark, and Inos Copley.
Roger is survived by four brothers; Gary (Barbara) Coleman of Paintsville, Ky., Alden Arthur Coleman (Lottie), Buford Coleman (Lena) of Pikeville, Ky., Paul E. Coleman of Virginia, and one sister, Flois Bloomfield of California.
Roger and his eleven siblings are the children of a proud Pike County coal mining family. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family will accept friends at the Thacker Memorial Funeral Home Thursday September 6th at 6:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held Friday September 7th at 11 A.M. Interment will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery of Pikeville, Ky.
