William Holland

  General Notes:

My great aunt Emily indicated that William was the son of Jason and Ora Holland ... The 1850 Federal Census for Nansemond Co., VA, page 170B,dated Sept 19, 1850 records Jason Holland (45) without a wife. He has four children listed: Irene (18), Martha E. (14), Oliver H. P. (12), and Marcilla (6). Josiah Cutchins (20) is living in the household. Marcilla is actually the son of Hilliard Holland and Martha Eliza Lee as listed in the Isaac Lee Family Bible ... see general notes on Isaac Lee.
Emily C. Daughtrey wrote of three of the children of Jason & Ora Holland: William, Marcella, and Perry [who was Oliver Hazard Perry Holland, killed in the Civil War]. The 1850 census records a Marcilla Holland, age 6, which appears to be the daughter of Hilliard and Martha Holland (see notes on Marcella Holland). Perhaps Hilliard and Martha had a son, William, and all three had died by 1850.
