The 1880 census records daughter Mary (Eberly) reporting her father was born in Pennsylvania while daughter Margaret (Hagen) reports her father born in Delaware. In 1900 and 1910, both daughters report their father born in Pennsylvania. An 1840 census record for Jacob Pearson, aged 20-30, from Nether Providence, Delaware Co., Pennsylvania could be our William Jacob Pearson. Perhaps the state and county names became blurred in memory. In 1840 census there is a D.S. Pierson, aged 60-70, with 3 males, aged 20-30, living in Lancaster City as recorded on page 37.

William Jacob Pearson's birth date and death date are found on his tombstome located at the Springville Cemetery at the Keller Farm in Ephrata, Lancaster Co., PA.

William married Salome (Sally) Shirk, daughter of Joseph Shirk and Susanna Keller. (Salome (Sally) Shirk was born on 27 Nov 1824 in Lancaster Co., PA, died on 7 Jul 1911 in Lancaster City, PA. and was buried on 10 Jul 1911 in Springville Cemetery, Ephrata, Lancaster Co., PA.) The cause of her death was Cerebral Hemorrhage / General Senility.
