The 1850 Federal Census for Nansemond Co., VA, page 141B/142A, dated August 15, 1850 records Henry (38 - Nansemond Co.) and Maria (30 - Nansemond Co.) Skinner with children James E. (7 - Nansemond Co.), Joseph (5 - Nansemond Co.), and Clementine (3 - Nansemond Co.).

The 1850 Federal Census for Nansemond Co., VA, page 199A, dated November 6, 1850 records John D. (45 - Nansemond Co.) and Ann (39 - Nansemond Co.) Langston with children George W. (19), Frances (14), Catherine (10), Jesse (9), and Parthenia (5).
John Dempsey Langston is the son of Dempsey Langston and Sarah Goodman (Sarah is the sister of Catherine Goodman, mother of Mariah.

Apparently by 1860 both Henry and Mariah have died:
The 1860 Federal Census for Nansemond Co., VA, page , dated 1860 records Clementine (13 - VA) and Alice (9 - VA) Skinner living in the home of Ann Langston (49 - VA). Also in the household are George W. Langston (27), Frances Langston (23), Catherine Langston (22), Jesse Langston (18), Thenia [Parthenia] Langston (15) and William Langston (8). Note: Ann Langston is the widow of John Dempsey Langston, who is the son of Dempsey Langston and Sarah Goodman. Sarah Goodman is the sister of Catherine Goodman, mother of Mariah Riddick.
