This cause came on this day to be again heard, in the papers formerly readin the report of Edward C. Riddick made permanent to the decree of the 18th April 1870, to which report there is no exception, and may be argued by council.

These papers name all children of James Goodman, their spouses, and many of the grand children of James Goodman in that their parents are deceased. Edny Milteer is a daughter of James Goodman while Edward C. Riddick is a grandson, son of Catherine Goodman and her husband James Riddick. Interesting to note that Edward C. Riddick is married to a grand daughter of James Goodman, Eunice Pierce, who is the daughter of Annice Goodman and her 2nd husband, Nathaniel Pierce.
Apparently Edny Goodman Parker Milteer, the only surviving child of James Goodman, questions the inheritance of her father's lands and assests that have perhaps been passed to the grand children.

On [image 6 of 299]: The Joint and separate answer of Alice A. Skinner, William Lanston, Jacob E., Sarah J, Mary E., Dempsey J., Mariah, Vada and Margaret Daughtrey, Elizabeth C. Langston & Francis Goodman by P. B. Prentis their guardian ad litem to a Bill of Complaint in the Circuit Court of Nansemond County, against others and themselves, by Edny Milteer & others. These Respondents say that being infants and incapable of knowing or protecting their rights in the premises, they submit the same to the Court and prey that no order or decree may be made in the premises inconsistent with their rights, and having answered and signed.
