Branock's family living near by James Newton Thompson's family: Henry Branick (sic) (59 - NC) with his wife Elizabeth (45 - NC) and children G. S. (25 - NC), M. A. [Mary] (22 - NC), and Wm H. (5 - NC). Henry is fairly well off with real estate valued at $2,000.
The 1860 Federal Census for the Eastern District, Rockingham Co., NC, page 38B, dated Oct 3, 1850 records Henry Brannock (sic) (69 - NC) with his wife Elizabeth (55 - NC) and son William H. (15 - NC). Henry is rather well off with real estate valued at $3,500 and a personal estate valued $ 30,000. Next door is Henry's son and his family: Green S. Brannock (36 - NC) with his wife Emaline [Mary Emaline Ramsey] (26) and son, Martin (1) [Martin Luther Brannock]. Also in the household is Elizabeth Miles (45).
