Mrs. J. Ralston Daughtrey
Mrs. Nannie Fisher Daughtrey, age 89, of 1605 Church Ave., SE, passed away in a local hospital Thursday morning. She was the widow of J. Ralston Daughtrey. Surviving are two sons, Vernon F. Daughtrey of Pawling, NY; George Russell Daughtrey of St. Petersburg, Florida; two daughters, Mrs. Gladys D. Austin of Vinton; Mrs. Ruth D. Roll of Delevan, NY; a brother DeWitt Fisher of Roanoke; three sisters, Mrs. Nettie F. Riggle, Miss Louise Fisher, both of Roanoke; Mrs. Francis F. Turner, of Waynesboro [VA]; also twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. Funeral service will be conducted 1:30 p.m., Saturday, at the Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, the Rev. LeRoy V. Jones and the Rev. John Z. Brandon will officiate. Interment will be in Sherwood. Friends may call at the Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.

(Sept 1893), [daughter] Frances (May 1895), and Clara S. (May 1898). Reuben is a carpenter and has been married to Ellen for 18 years. They have had 7 children all of whom are still living.

Nannie married James Ralston Daughtrey, son of Jacob Edward Daughtrey and Lucy Ann Winborne, on 24 Dec 1902 in Wythe Co., VA. (James Ralston Daughtrey was born on 28 Apr 1878 in Nansemond Co, VA, died on 27 Feb 1955 in Roanoke, VA and was buried in Sherwood Memorial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Roanoke Co., VA.)
