The 1910 Federal Census for Black Lick, Wythe Co., Virginia, District 140, page 39B, dated May 13, 1910 records Reuben P. (48 - VA/VA/VA) and Ellen C. (46 - VA/VA/VA) Fisher and children DeWitt (19), Nettie (16), Frances A, (14), Clara S. (11), Fred M. (6), and Carrie L. (4). Reuben is a mail carrier on a rural route and has been married to Ellen for 26 years. They have had 10 children 9 of whom are still living.
The 1920 Federal Census for Black Lick, Wythe Co., Virginia, District 186, page 47B, dated June 21, 1920 records Ruben R. (52 - VA/VA/VA) and Ellen C. (46 - VA/VA/VA) Fisher and children Fred M. (16) and Carrie L. (14). Reuben is a farmer. Also in the household are Reuben's parents, Thomas M. (82 - VA/VA/VA) and Lenora L. (72 - VA/VA/VA) Fisher.
By 1930, Reuben has died and Ellen has moved to Roanoke, VA: The 1930 Federal Census for Roanoke City, Virginia, Jefferson Ward 3, District 31, page 193A, dated April 12, 1930 records the widow Ellen C. Fisher (67) with her daughter Louise C. Fisher (23) and grand daughter Mildred V. Wiezel (14) 1601 Clinton Avenue SE.
